Edward Soap: Possible Scents

Oh mu gosh. I love love love SinfullyNatural's take on Edward's scent in their "I like Boy's Who Sparkle" soap. It smells so good, even my hubby can't stop using it. Being the Twilight addict I am, I want to try to create my own Edward soap. His scent is described by Bella as "honey, lilac, and sun". Honey and lilac aren't so hard to figure out, but the sun scent has me stumped. How exactly does the sun smell? Another etsian has a Edward body spray (which I also have and love, but not as much as I love the SN soap!) and on their blog, they tell how they interpret the sun scent: "vanilla, musk, moss, marine and amber". I'm not going to copy their scent, but it has inspired me to think of some similar scents. I'm going to play around with some scents and see what I like best!

Here are some scents I'm thinking about along with their descriptions to make my own interpretation of Edward's delectable scent!

Honey

:
Southern Soapers: Honey Bee I have had to test many many honey's to find this! Sue Bee would be proud. Phenomenal honey, no morphing, easy to soap, and only a medium beige discoloration. Gets even stronger as it cures.

Lilac:

Brambleberry:
Lilac: We had our Lilac formulated to make it the most realistic that we could find. This lilac really sticks in CP soap, unlike most lilac scents. It is a magnificent light floral scent that is sure to prove a best seller for you.

(Cybilia) Lilac: A soft, gentle floral. This fragrance is very true to the flower. Nice and not sickly sweet, blossoming with cure time. Flashpoint: 180ºF.

SouthernSoapers: French Lilac: French Lilacs will take you into the past with an enchanting fragrance that heralds the arrival of spring. The fragrance of French Lilacs is fresh and floral with sweet undertones, dewy green top notes, and a soft drydown. Common lilacs are also known as French lilacs because that’s where many of the earliest hybrids were bred. French Lilacs are a treasured favorite, bringing to mind air freshened with the heady spring fragrance of freshly cut lilac blooms. Lilacs were considered the first emotion of love in the Victorian 'Language of Flowers'. To find a lilac blossom with five instead of four corolla lobes means good luck.

Sun:

Brambleberry
Amber: It took us five years of searching to find this Amber. It is a base note that is used in perfumery because it adds a sophisticated, warm base note to fragrance blends. Our Amber blend also contains notes of Vanilla, Patchouli, Sandalwood and Musk. Because of the Vanilla in the blend, it will go a luxurious brown in your soaps and toiletries. Use the Amber alone, or mix it with florals for a sultry twist on the basic floral.

Dragonsblood: This mysterious, alluring blend is difficult to describe. With warming notes of amber, incense, Madagascar vanilla and patchouli, our Dragonsblood is lightened up with layers of romantic notes such as rose, jasmine and lilac. Finally, our sensual, deep blend is topped off with the colorful, light touches of blood orange and grapefruit. This fragrance will discolor in your products because of the vanilla notes in it but add some gold mica in your soap (either as "veins" running through the soap or sprinkled on top) and your customers won't even notice!

Mayan Gold: This luxurious fragrance is a mix of rare woods, spices and amber. It is considered an oriental fragrance with a very unique note: chocolate! Our blend contains a large amount of essential oils (Sandalwood, Patchouli, Clary Sage, Vetiver, Mandarin, Lemon, Grapefruit, Neroli) along with synthetic notes of Vanilla, Chocolate and Musk.

Sandalwood Vanilla: Customers have been asking us for years to come up with a Sandalwood Vanilla blend that is sweet and creamy yet woodsy enough to use as a man's fragrance. Our Sandalwood Vanilla smells different in cold process soap than in the bottle. It's warm and inviting in soap, and of course, discolors soap brown because of the Vanilla content. Straight out the bottle, there are more powder notes that are not present in the finished product.

Sensuous Sandalwood: This Sandalwood is the most alluring, sexy scent you will ever smell. Sure to work great in any men's soap, this fragrance will add a woody, lush and sensual note to any blend. It smells great alone too! This fragrance is not suitable for our all natural, liquid soap base.

Spiced Mahogany: This deep, rich woody scent has notes of Italian Bergamot, Apple Wood and Tonka Bean to round out the darker, more sensuous Patchouli, Cedarwood, and Oakmoss. To keep this fragrance from smelling like a freshly cut wood floor, we've added spices of Cardamom, Vanilla Bourbon and allspice. Because of the Vanilla, this fragrance will discolor your soap but the resulting fragrance is one of sophistication and verve.

Sweetgrass: This fragrance oil is a delightful treat for the nose. A bright, green scent, this one mixes great too. This scent is especially wonderful in any herbal soap and is a compliment to the bright scents of summer.

(Cybilia) Celestial Waters: This is not an oceanic scent but more of a sweet mountain spring scent. Imagine a hike on the banks of a babbling brook through the Appalachians, with the sweet clean scent of hemlock, magnolia, and honeysuckle lingering in the air. Flash point is 136F

(Cybilia) Rain: If you love the smell of a sunny day after a spring rain you love this fragrance. Fresh unisex fragrance. Beautiful in wax candles. Flashpoint: 188ºF.

SouthernSoapers

Amber Glow: Amber Glow is deep, rich, animalistic and a pure single note Amber fragrance that just "glows" in intensity and depth. Amber Glow smells expensive, and it is very strong.

Amber Vanilla: Amber Vanilla is a rich, warm and intense golden amber with magnificent velvet vanilla depths swirled with hints of mysterious and subtle spices. Amber Vanilla is a fragrance that lingers on the skin with a powdery, sweet sensuous intensity. Amber Vanilla is unique, mysterious, and utterly captivating - reminiscent of a bygone medieval age.

Cinnamon Sticks: Cinnamon Sticks is a non discoloring, skin safe fragrance oil that performs beautifully in CP soap and has a true fresh ground cinnamon stick aroma!

Carpe Diem: Carpe` Diem combines exotic floral & citrus nuances with sensual woods for a warm and earthy, invigorating scent that lingers even after you dry off. Life was meant to be awesome, and Carpe` Diem is a fragrance that will invigorate your imagination. This unisex scent begins with a sparkling citrus top note, a harmonious combination of green petitgrain, and fragrant woods. The heart of Carpe` Diem unfolds to reveal a vivacious touch of pink pepper, aromatic cedarwood, balsam, and sensual musk supported by lingering woodland violets and water hyacinths.

Cashmeran: Cashmeran is an accord of ambergris, rich musks, woods & spices, earthy mosses, patchouli and a suporting floral heart of jasmine & heliotrope. It's very deep, rich and powerful fragrance is softened with a whisper of sweet vanilla. Long lasting, and very concentrated.
